About this place
Tucked into the residential streets of Shikahama, Adachi Ward, Adachiya is a neighborhood Chinese diner where many guests turn instinctively to the classic combination of ramen and half-size fried rice. The noodle soup arrives clear and straightforward, adhering to traditional chuka soba style. Its piping-hot broth offers a gentle, unhurried flavor well suited to an everyday lunch or dinner.
The fried rice served alongside it is studded generously with finely diced pink naruto fish cake, scrambled egg, and roast pork, creating a striking contrast of pink and yellow. Chewy bits of naruto and savory pork fat blend easily into the fluffy grains, delivering full flavor even in a half portion. Plump gyoza with chewy wrappers make another natural companion to a bowl of noodles or a cold beer.
The menu also lists hearty gomoku soba packed with Chinese cabbage, sweet-and-savory katsudon simmered in dashi, and Japanese curry rice. Diners eat in, with comfortable space for solo visitors. With bottled beer, sours, and small savory plates on offer, the shop works just as well for an afternoon drink with side dishes as for a meal. Hours are split between midday and evening services, and payment is cash only.
